primal birthing

The Art of Childbirth

Every childbirth education class has a niche. Through Primal Birthing, we explore the philosophy that although every woman is born with the instincts to birth naturally, sometimes she may need a little help in reigniting her innate power and wisdom to do so. This class is interactive and realistic, providing both an academic and an emotional preparation for birth.

Familiarity with birth can be a very sensitive subject. During the course of our class, we expose families to a variety of birthing experiences - video, photo, and first-hand experience discussions. Primal Birthing believes in the necessity of having more exposure to live-births rather than the third-hand verbal and media-imposed versions. Lastly, we aspire to set the tone of comfort. During our group sessions together, my hope is to grow as a group into a modern version of the village-communities our ancestors were once apart of. Then, once we graduate, we carry our newly developed bonds beyond the classroom walls.

Our general order of topics, are listed below however, the presentation is flexible and responsive and may vary depending on the class size, general participation and the overall wants and energy of attending families. In addition to the key points below, other topics relevant to birth and pregnancy are also included:

- Pregnancy Experiences & Myths - Pain & Fears of Labor
